‘The Wild One’
Australia’s first and foremost Rock ‘n’ Roll performer: JOK hit the Australian music scene in the late 50’s determined to become an influence in the Bill Haley, Little Richard mold.
His tenacity and persistence coupled with his dynamic stage presence and back up band the Dee-Jays, made the American born (Australian entrepreneur & music promoter ) Lee Gordon take note. It was not long before JOK was sharing the Australian stage with the likes of Chuck Berry.
Johnny O’Keefe has been rightfully called Australia’s King of Rock n Roll for his early influence on the fledgling Australian popular music scene.
I am creating a series of historic colourisations of Australian Music legends and influential performers that will be available over a select release period. The images are my researched and artistic interpretive colourisations of these performers.
The Stein on offer will form part of a range of products that reflect the same theme.
