Description
The 1913 Port Adelaide team began their unbroken run of winning games mid way through the 1913 season, to lead into their unbroken 1914 season. This team was the genesis of the Best Australian Rules Football Side to have ever graced a football field at Senior level in Australia.
This colourised photo mug celebrates the magnificent 1913 Port Adelaide side that finished off the 1913 season by taking out the “Championship of Australia” title against the Fitzroy Football Club, known in Victoria as “the Unbeatables”.
Port Adelaide faced North Adelaide in the SAFL Grand Final beating a strongly finishing North Adelaide side, then went on to defeat the Challengers for the National ‘Championship of Australia’ Title, Fitzroy – The Unbeatables the following week.
